The Metal Age is the 3rd age.

The Metal Age is an extremely long lasting age and is perhaps one of the most sedate. The longest recorded planetary arc that exists for a perpatual Metal Age is maintained on the Human world of Rhodicon, which still continues to exist in the Metal Age.

The Metal Age is characterised by high inter-state competition, low population urban areas, low (or non existant) mass production, transient forms of currency, poor educational espousement, no global view of the world and the existance of city states which are able to remain internationally viable. In short the Metal age lacks a major super power that is able to sustain mass production.
