The Factory technological age is a fascinating time of expansion and rapidly growing sophistication. It usually occurs on planets when a single technically ascendant nation state delves into imperial expansion ahead of others. But it may include any number of such aspirational nation states as long as industrial, technological and militia parity is present, and primitve states remain available.

During the Factory Age the domination of primitive states occurs, which swallows up large amounts of communities but creates a socio-economic developmental platform for planetary inhabitants that is now globalised, holistic and unifying.

This imperial power is almost always suplanted or fatigued, but it remains interventioist.

The factory age differs from colonial or expansionist ages of other types because the urbanisation that occurs rapidly also results in mass production; a key differentiating component.
