Higher Humans

Higher humans were, and are, an incredibly complex array of altered individuals. Natual born humans, they possess manifestly self-altered genomes and were the direct cause of the great collapse. Were they to become the emergent super power and superceede the Jéem they would ensure the destruction of the human race, not by malice or forethought, but simply by their power.

Higher humans posseed and still posses to some degree incredible technological power that would give them near limitless influence. The war to end all wars was fought over imortality, and they were the beneficiearies of it. Higher humans not only live agelessly but they can re-code their genomes continually. They can adopt the physical form they wish to, though it takes many weeks to achieve a transformtion they are also invulnerable to a huge array of checmical, biological, and radiological effects, and as such are masters of such weapons to destroy their foes.

Higher humans utilise depaction, some anitmatter tchnology, gravitonics, can manipulate elements of space time and weird powerful energy weaponary, litterally bleeding sources of energy from far off stars and directing them into cities and planets. They can destroy an entire planetary solar system in a few days, with anti-matter chain bombs, tiny reactors that demolish matter after they first few milliseconds although these weapons have not been implemented in a long time.

Higher humans are not, as a rule, evil (although some are). The vast majority of surviving higher humans in fact completley believe they are the only hope of mankind. They are a higher level of evolution of the Illúme.

The technology to be able to make higher humans is lost. Not theoretically lost conceptually, but lost in terms of industrially: i.e. it would take an enormous infrastructure of heavily developed specificlaly trained individuals to re-code a genome and allow the patient to survive. All geneome re-writing is a cutome piece of work. And it's non nuclear DNA graft and cannot be propogated by cloning or sexual reproduction.
