the brutalus

Numbering just over 40,0000 in total, the brutalus are the only faction of the Illúme that are capable of waging fully independant war, they carry their own ships, their own personnel and their own maintenance and recovery crews. They are extremely ancient and were formed long ago before the fall and are the remnants of the higher human military technologies that almost wiped out the human race.

The Brutalus are very intollerant to the government of the Illúme and are as a rule quick tempered, opinionated, and decisive yet they are incredibly brave and utterly devoted to the cause.

The brutalus are answerable only the the Great congress of each of their monasteries and do not possess beaded consciousness. They are the only force capable of taking on the the eighth forces on anything like equal terms, but on those terms they need to have heavy numbers on their side because the odds are no in their favour.

The brutalus are full mechanised witha wide variety of war machinary. They are non covert and a single monastery contingent is capable of exctraditing a feral planet to ruin in 2 to 3 hours. In space, atmospheric, surface and sub-oceanic warfare they are without parallel. Most of the Brutalus war machines are so powerful that they may not come into enemy hands and disassemble into low order atomic states (self destruct) if not consciously controlled.

The vehicles they maintain (and devlop) must be able to survive incredible forces, a battle suit is usually dropped from high orbit and it air brakes into the high atmosphere using energy weapons to obliterate surface human population and stop any fleeing rememnant. The units swarm over the surface in a mathematical pattern that focuses on population density. They are able to conspicuously not kill certain marked individuals, and their weapons facilitate this.

In conflict with the eighth monastery the brutalus use a completely different method aiming to fly in special formations that swarm and coalsce in 3 dimensions, to apply an overload in the higher human sheilding.

Primarily the brutalus are dual role: The dual role is to lay ruinous waste to feral worlds and engage the forces of the eighth who usually choose those times to engage.
